Welcome to our traditional country inn set in Penton, Cumbria.

The Bridge Inn is about half a mile from the Scottish borders where a stone bridge joins both countries and hence where our name originates.
Make yourself at home in our snug bar. We have a good selection of ales from the Derwent, Geltdale and Cumberland breweries. Enjoy a game of darts or pool or simply listen to some classic tunes on the jukebox.
The Bridge Inn also serves delicious homemade food prepared by Chef Linda Waring. Linda is originally from Ulverston and now runs the business with husband Tony Wisniewski. "I've lived in Australia for over 16 years and I'm really enjoying being back home. My parent’s farm is next door so it feels like fate we bought it"
Linda hopes to branch out into more ‘exotic’ foods like Asian-influenced dishes, Mexican food and curries’. Great news for all you foody’s. The Inn will also cater for private dining, birthdays, functions, weddings….if you have something in mind, don’t hesitate to contact us.
There are also 4 comfortable bedrooms at very reasonable rates. Long stays are welcome.
Our bar is open 7 nights a week at 5pm, with Happy Hour fron 5-6pm daily .Sunday Lunch from (1st April ) 12pm-2pm
